The Cutty Sark is the last surviving tea clipper known for being the fastest cargo vessel of her time. After nearly 50 years in a purpose-built dry-dock close to the River Thames in Greenwich, the Cutty Sark required a complete and urgent conservation programme. As part of the project she was raised over three metres and enclosed in a glass canopy allowing visitors the experience of walking beneath the 19th century sailing ship, creating a dynamic exhibition and function space.
