Installed in one of the iconic Battersea Power Station Chimney’s, Lift 109 is a unique experience that posed unique challenges. The experience begins in the new refurbished Turbine Hall A then moves through additional areas including a fully immersive media space and express lifts before reaching Lift 109.

While the delivery of the experience was not overly complex the co-ordination required between multiple parties across the project proved the biggest challenge. We had to break the project down into multiple strands of work and
ensure co-ordination between strands from start to completion. The challenge came as many strands were managed by other parties with limited experience of visitor attraction but with our knowledge, patience and hands on approach to delivery, we were able to ensure all parties communicated and worked in tandem to ensure delivery of this world class experience.

We worked closely with the client through the appointment of the contractor to ensure that all client contractual requirements were agreed to and had fortnightly cost meetings with the client to ensure that all variations were captured and agreed giving the client visibility of the end of project cost projection.

Sustainability was part of the overall Battersea development requirements and we worked with the design & contractors teams to ensure that the design and delivery met the client BREEAM requirements.
