ITEC
Where technology, creativity, and collaboration meet, the D&B Group’s Immersive Technology Experience Centre (ITEC) offers a new kind of event production space, built at the heart of London’s iconic Science Museum.
Located on the ground floor of the museum’s former Welcome Wing, the 125 sqm site had previously housed the ‘Legend of Apollo’ 3D/4D theatre – a space that had since become a temporary store. With limited existing services information available and a challenging live environment, early-stage verification of the site’s capacity was critical. Drawing on extensive experience in live, complex sites, Fraser Randall worked alongside the Science Museum’s project teams, contractors, and consultants to establish the technical feasibility of the installation at RIBA Stage 1.
The £900,000 transformation introduced a full-scale D&B Soundscape studio with projection mapping and a SmartStage Hybrid, alongside a production control room, R&D lab, lounges, meeting spaces, and client offices – all designed to foster innovation and collaboration. Fraser Randall’s leadership ensured that design development, planning approval, and construction could progress seamlessly within a compressed programme.
Fraser Randall acted as Project and Cost Manager, working closely with Science Museum stakeholders & D&B Soundscape to deliver a vibrant, cutting edge space within the Science Museum.
