Fairy Tales at the British Library
Fraser Randall is proud to have supported the upcoming Fairy Tales exhibition at the British Library , acting as Cost and Project Manager on this imaginative and highly interactive project.
It opens on 27th March until 23 August 2026, the exhibition explores the rich history and cultural impact of some of the world’s best-known stories, including Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel. We’ve consulted on how to display original manuscripts, early illustrations, theatrical costumes and immersive displays that bring centuries of storytelling to life. This project employed a talented team of theatre designers to create an immersive environment that will amaze children and grown-ups. The setworks feature interactive installations straight out of our favourite fairy tales and beautiful hand-painted illustrations which cover entire walls. The exhibition contractors, Sam Forster Associates , did a fantastic job of coordinating all these elements and supervising the production of so many artisans and craftspeople. The result is amazing and has a definite “handmade with love” quality that we hope the public will enjoy.
Among the highlights is a walk-through gingerbread house installation, alongside puppets, rare works from the Library’s collections and engaging interactive elements designed to appeal to visitors of all ages. Projects like this demonstrate the complexity of delivering major cultural exhibitions, where creative vision, technical design and careful cost management must work seamlessly together.
Fraser Randall is delighted to have played a role in helping realise an exhibition that celebrates imagination, storytelling and the enduring power of fairy tales.
