Blavatnik Art, Film & Photography Galleries

Opened in 2023, the Blavatnik Art, Film & Photography Galleries offer a powerful and visually arresting lens on twentieth and twenty-first-century conflict. Bringing together over 500 works, from John Singer Sargent’s Gassed to contemporary photography by Tim Hetherington, the gallery is the first of its kind in the UK to explore war through art, film, and media made by those who experienced it.

Fraser Randall provided Project, Cost and Construction Management, overseeing the delivery of this ambitious and highly sensitive exhibition within a complex museum environment.

Our Role
• Provided full project and cost management from early design through to completion.
• Led coordination across curatorial, design and contractor teams to manage timelines and technical integration.
• Oversaw construction logistics within a live museum setting, ensuring minimal disruption and clear stakeholder communication.
• Managed risk, budget control and procurement processes to deliver the gallery to the highest quality standards.
