Technicians Gallery

A first-of-its-kind interactive space, Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery celebrates the vital and often overlooked role of technicians across a wide range of industries.

From advanced manufacturing to renewable energy, the gallery invites visitors to explore technical careers through hands-on exhibits, real-life stories, and immersive digital experiences.

Fraser Randall provided Project Management for both the infrastructure works and exhibition fit-out, delivering a seamless and highly coordinated gallery experience within the operational Science Museum.

Our Role
• Led project management across infrastructure and exhibition phases, ensuring cohesive delivery across all disciplines.
• Developed a tailored procurement strategy to protect programme timelines and design development for complex interactive elements.
• Oversaw the development of 13 bespoke interactives, including digital touchpoints, mechanical experiences, and custom-fabricated props.
• Managed multiple specialist contractors and collaborators, including AV, interactive, and exhibition design teams.
• Provided full programme oversight, contractor coordination, and cost support in close collaboration with the project QS and client team.
