Design and Disability
Design & Disability at the V&A explored how Disabled, D/deaf, and neurodivergent individuals and communities have shaped design and culture from the 1940s to today – presenting disability not only as lived experience, but as a powerful source of creative identity and cultural expression. Featuring 170 objects across three central themes – Visibility, Tools, and Living – the exhibition celebrated Disabled-led designs and the lived expertise that continues to shape art, architecture, fashion, and everyday life.
Championing inclusion and design justice, the exhibition highlighted how design can be more equitable, accessible, and representative, challenging traditional narratives and showcasing the impact of community-led approaches.
Fraser Randall provided Cost Management for the exhibition, supporting its delivery with financial rigour while upholding its commitment to accessibility, creativity, and inclusive practice.
