Hallyu! The Korean Wave
The K-Wave exhibition explored the global impact of Korean popular culture, from fashion, beauty and music to film, television, and digital innovation. Opening with a high-energy display of PSY’s Gangnam Style, the exhibition examined how Korea’s cultural exports have reshaped global pop culture, challenging the historical dominance of the West.
Alongside its celebration of K-pop, K-drama and contemporary style, the exhibition also traced the country’s transformation from post-war devastation in the 1950s to becoming a global cultural powerhouse. Through music videos, original objects, interactive installations and multimedia displays, K-Wave explored the political, technological and creative forces behind Korea’s rise and the soft power that continues to propel its influence worldwide.
